Seeing the woman’s potential, Christy extended her home and her heart to this young woman, inviting her to live in her home for the duration of the pregnancy. This one selfless act birthed Harvest Home’s program which has served over 540 families over the last 30 years.

The Cowtown C.A.L.F. Program

As part of The Cowtown Marathon’s mission to promote a lifelong love of fitness, The C.A.L.F. Program (Children’s Activities for Life and Fitness) was created in 2009 to help tens of thousands of area children lace up and cross countless finish lines. Our staff and volunteers visit approximately 400 schools across North Texas annually, training students in proper running technique and educating them about resting heart rate, the importance of hydration, proper nutrition and living an active lifestyle.

But there’s so much more…

Through our school grant program, we identify low-income children and fit them properly with a new pair of running shoes, as well as provide grants to make entry fees more affordable. We then give those children tips and training to make running a 5K race a reality.

In 2017 alone, we awarded over 5,000 financial grants and 5,000 pairs of running shoes. Our Kids 5K Presented by Academy Sports was named “The Top Kids’ Running Event in The Nation” in 2011 by Running USA. By running any Cowtown race, YOU make all of this possible. Thank you.

Tiqvah Hands of Hope
Tiqvah Hands of Hope started fall of 2009 and was modeled after a program in Chicago serving one of its most impoverished neighborhoods. With the goal of impacting children's lives body, mind, and soul; Tiqvah began developing relationships in the S.E. community center by helping students get homework done, provide meals on a daily basis, and encouraged creativity through different enrichment options. When we began to out-grow both the space at the community center as well as the local church, we realized the Lord was calling us to help more than just the SE side of Canton. Tiqvah opened at its first location in 2012, St Pauls Episcopal Church, offering services to families that was already part of the Tiqvah Community. Soon, we were offered a partnership with the Canton City school district. They began bussing the children to us from 15 different schools. As we continued to grow with both our programming and attendance, we soon found a need for yet another move.  Now in our current home, Christ Presbyterian, we are still serving Canton City Schools and loving our families.
